Yes, I could’ve done it myself but our ShopVac is broken at home and our ‘house’ vacuum cleaner is an old-school built-in unit (you know, the kind that is mounted in a utility room somewhere and you plug the hose into the wall), so I don’t really have any way to vacuum it out.
At any rate, the price was right ($100 CAD) and I paid an extra $15 for them to do a restoration on my very cloudy/UV-damaged passenger side headlight. If you’ll remember,

as it had a crack in it.
Took about 4 hours. I took two walks...one out and about to stretch my legs, and another down the street to get some lunch. During the first walk, I went down a very narrow, disused gravel side street and saw this house - must’ve been beautiful when it was brand new, but not in a bad state of disrepair...lots of visible rot, one of the front posts that supports the verandah roof is falling over (second one in from the right) and there is junk everywhere. People are still living there too...0_o
As for my Accent, Humdrum is ridiculously clean now...the inside looks BRAND new (other than the few scratches here and there on the mostly-hard-plastic interior of a car that has done almost 170,000kms)...and smells pleasant as he put in a very nice black cherry-scented air freshener. :P
They even washed the outside for free (including scrubbing my rims, of which the front rims were coated in brake dust before!). I’m almost scared to drive it to get it dirty, haha!
You definitely see nicks and spots up close in the paint, and I am still waiting for the

because he did it wrong......but otherwise, this is the best she’s looked in years!

Clean cars are the best car. Looks great, especially the wheels.

Humdrum looks great!

Headlights looking good!
Nothing ages a car more than faded headlights (IMHO).

She looks great.
But we’ll have to get you sorted out.
Are you on DriveTribe?

Would be a great house if it were given attention. Other old homes like that in the area? Good neighborhood?

Good price for a full detail. Enjoy!

I thought it w
asn’t too bad! That was technically the price for just a good interior detail, plus the cost of the headlight resto. But they did a complementary wash on the outside, which was really nice of them!

Yup, the UV-damaged
old one was pretty noticeable compared to the replaced new one (replaced driver’s side light vs. pre-restore passenger light for comparison - you can see the cloudy/haziness on the passenger light on the top-half)
:
Those pics are from just after I installed the new driver’s light, so the passenger light was even worse by now, though nowhere near as bad as I’ve seen on some cars!

Lunenburg is full of older homes, especially in ‘Old Town’
- it’s a UNESCO site. :)
On the map, most of the nicest older homes are in the ‘grided’ section of streets in the middle of the map. The one in my pic is farther left just above where ‘Stelia North America’ (an aerospace parts company) is located.

Thanks! My mind is still boggled by how clean it is inside now, lol. I’ve vacuumed
it out a few times since I got it in April
2013, but this is the first proper cleaning it’s gotten since then...looks mint, haha!

Thanks! The wheels are from a ‘98 Ford Escort wagon
but they seem to fit
the car really well!

Looks like a mid 19th century Italianate, with some later Colonial Revival additions. Not too far gone yet, just needs some attention and $$$$.

I think it looks better in the picture, it was PRETTY rough in person, and you can’t see how far back that one post was leaning that holds the front verandah roof...it was leaning backwards by like 20 degrees.....

Yeah, but that's not original to the house anyway

True, that was just an example of how rough it was :(
